About Mrs. Brumback

I grew up in Southeast London, England. When I was three years old I announced I was going to be a matron (head nurse) in a hospital, but by the age of four I knew I wanted to be a teacher. That belief has never changed and after graduating from Cambridge University with a B.Ed (Hons) in Mathematics and Education, I moved back home and taught 5 and 6 year olds for two years.
On a karate vacation (doesn’t everyone go on karate vacations?!) to Seattle I met my husband and shortly after marrying him, found my way to St. John School in 2002.  I taught Kindergarten and 1st grade for 8 years, and then moved to the middle school where I have taught Math ever since.
I have 3 children – Olivia (in College), Rory (High School senior) and Sophia (St. John School).
