Welcome Back, 7th and 8th Grade!

I hope you are all rested and ready to start a new school year! This year I will be teaching 7th Grade Standard Math, 7th Grade Zero Period Math, and 8th Grade Standard Math.

Remote Learning
Until it is safe to return on campus for classes, Middle School will be learning online. You will log into Microsoft Teams for all classes (I recommend you download the Teams app to your computer).  Please see your schedule (given to you at the Meet N’ Greet) for when your Math class is.

Apps
Please find an app (such as Adobe Scan) to scan your handwritten math work
(iPhones – you already have one! Go into Notes, click the camera icon, choose scan documents)

Supplies
You will need:
A whiteboard and expo marker (you can use white paper in a sheet protector or the front of a 3 ring binder)
Composition Notebook
Pens/Pencils
Ruler
Big Ideas Textbook
Scientific Calculator

Summer Math Fun!

Just because it’s summer does not mean Middle Schoolers can’t keep up their Math skills! Here are some options for you whether you will be just entering into 6th grade, or will be the leaders of the school in 8th grade!

St. John Summer BINGO Boards
Stop the summer slide! Complete one row of each bingo board over the summer to win a prize when school resumes in the fall!

Summer Solutions Workbook
Workbooks are a great way to keep your math skills fresh.  This workbook has a help section and the answers in the back.
Choose the Common Core version of your child’s current grade (2019/20 school year)
(Be aware – some students who have a challenging time with math do not like that each page covers a variety of topics. They may prefer a different workbook where each page is dedicated to a topic, such a dividing fractions)

Spectrum Math Workbook
This workbook focuses on one skill per lesson. I prefer this option for students that need to warm up or remember how to complete the steps in a problem.

*6th graders entering 7th grade only*
All 6th graders were given a gift by me – a workbook with a schedule attached! This is one more option for you!  Lost the schedule? Here it is again!
