6th Grade Project: Math about Me Poster

DUE: Friday, September 15

Task:   Create a poster showing 6-8 numerical expressions to represent the numbers in your life!

1)   Using a variety of computation skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division of whole numbers, decimals and fractions create 6-8 different numerical expressions to represent things about you.
For example: I live in the zip code 100,000 – 1,867 (but at a 6th grade level)
NOTE: 1 expression has to include fractions
1 expression has to include decimals
2)  Glue a photo of yourself to the middle of the poster. Write your name in a large print on the poster.
3)  Write the 6-8 numerical expressions around the poster.
4)  Decorate the poster in marker or pencil. Think about whether you will be able to read the expressions from a distance.
5)  On back 1) ON TOP LEFT SIDE write a full heading (include your student #)
2) write complete answer sentences in pencil.
